This website will offer a step-by-step guide to help you prepare for classes this fall. In the months leading up to your first semester, you will receive information from a variety of on-campus offices, so be sure to check your mailbox regularly.

Expect your I-20 to arrive in the mail.

If you need to know the SEVIS number on your I-20 in order to make an appointment for a visa interview, please contact the Office of International Education at Please remember that you will have to pay an I-901 fee before making an appointment for a visa interview. Make plans for your arrival

Send the Office of International Education details on your arrival date.

Join the Facebook Group

Join the Fall 2015 incoming Freshman Group and start getting to know your classmates!

Set up your Cobleskill email account

Activate your SUNY Cobleskill email account. You must activate your email account before completing the subsequent steps.

Register for housing

You must activate your SUNY Cobleskill email account BEFORE registering for housing.
Residential Life housing information is mailed to students who plan to live on campus and have paid the advanced housing deposit. Students must login with their Cobleskill email and complete the online housing survey by June 1 for best consideration of their preferences. The housing survey will be available in March.

Submit your Immunization Records

Submit immunization records to the Wellness Center beginning in March.

Log into Banner Web

Log onto Banner Web with your Banner ID (800#) and PIN. (Your PIN was sent in the mail 2-4 weeks after your acceptance letter, if you have difficulties logging in, please call the Admissions Office at 518-255-5525)

Once you have logged in complete the following steps:
1. Pay your tuition and room deposit
2. Complete the Student Code of Conduct affirmation.


Athletes, be sure to fill out an Athletic Recruitment Form so that the Department of Sport and Exercise knows you’re interested in playing a sport.

Begin checking out meal plan options.


Send the Admissions Office your:
1. Final High School Transcript
2. Any other documents that indicate credits you have earned.
* When in doubt, contact Office of International Education to see if any items are needed.

Begin searching for jobs posted exclusively for SUNY Cobleskill students.

If applicable, document your disability with the AccessABILITY office. and learn how to register for accommodations.

Order your textbooks through our Barnes & Noble campus bookstore.

Begin looking through the list of SUNY Cobleskill Clubs.


Check your residence hall assignment.
In July your hall assignment will be available as well as other important information about your roommate, including their name and phone number. You will also receive information about arrival to campus, residence hall check-in, and things you may want to bring for your room.

Contact the Office on International Education at with your arrival date and time.

The first college bill will be sent from the Student Accounts Office to your SUNY Cobleskill email account.

Complete Web Check-in.
In order to prevent your schedule from being dropped for the upcoming semester, you MUST complete the banner web check in process. When viewing your schedule you may notice room assignments missing for classes being held in the new Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources. This is a new building and room numbers will be posted to your schedule later this summer. Please be sure to double check your schedule on banner web before the start of the semester for updated room assignments.

Contact the Office on International Education at with your arrival date and time. Be certain to arrive at least one day before orientation starts.

Begin preparing for internation student and campus wide orientation. Orientation begins Thursday, August 20.
