What is one of your favorite things about SUNY Cobleskill?
One of my favorite things about SUNY Cobleskill is that it's far away enough from home, but not too far away. It provides the “small town” feel, while only being about a half an hour away from city life. You get the best of both worlds.
What advice would you give a prospective student about choosing a college?
When choosing your college, follow your heart because it will become your home. Try not to follow friends or significant other as this is your experience and your education... Make the choice your own.
What is an interesting hobby or special talent you have?
I really enjoy traveling and do it as much as my life allows me to. I'm also starting to get into scrapbooking.
What program did you study at SUNY Cobleskill?
I studied AAS Hotel Technology (now a retired major) because I have always enjoyed providing hospitality in making people feel at home while away from home. I appreciated the program because it was a blend of culinary labs, liberal arts courses, and core hotel management/business classes. It also required me to do a hands-on internship, which was an excellent segue into the industry. It more than prepared me for my bachelor's degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management.
What did you like best about your college experience?
The best part was truly connecting with professors, building life-long friendships with those who once were strangers, and networking with alumni. I loved the experience of working and growing with a diverse group of people.
