Why did you choose SUNY Cobleskill?

I chose SUNY Cobleskill because I wanted to study Animal Science and the program here is way more hands on than at other institutions. We have barns and a variety of livestock like goats, sheep and rabbits. The campus is also really pretty. There are lots of trees and the foliage is really beautiful in the Fall.

What is your major and class year?

I'm in the Animal Science B.S. program and this is my first year.

What clubs or organizations are you involved in?

I'm in the Pre-Vet Club, and we recently hosted a bunch of veterinarian schools to come talk about their application processes.

What is the best meal you've had on campus and where is your favorite place to eat?

My favorite place to eat is Twisted Whiskers, and my go-to sandwich is turkey, American cheese, bacon, dill pickles, jalapenos, lettuce and mayo all on a white sub.

Why do you like living on campus?

I really like the sense of community because you know everyone else that lives on campus; a so it's really tight-knit community. It's a lot easier to make friends when you live on campus because there are always people around.

What is your floor like and what types of amenities does your building offer?

I LOVE my floor! We're all friends with everyone, and it's where our friend group came from. Parsons Hall has really nice, big clean bathrooms. We have a study lounge on the sixth floor with the most beautiful view; you can see the barns, the mountains and the trees and you can watch the leaves change colors.

Why do you like your RA?

She puts on a lot of programs and gets us to do things together, most recently we all went to Grocery Bingo. She really cares about us and wants to see us do well. We had a Disney movie night and everyone showed up in their pajamas and got to watch their favorite movie. I really liked the coffee meet and greet we did at the Brew House too.

Anything else you'd like to tell people about SUNY Cobleskill?

It's a pretty small population here; so the teachers really get to know you and set you up for success in their classes. Also, go to CASE (Center for Academic Support and Excellence)! I love CASE, they have a tutor for everything and I use them everyday. The barn on campus is great for relieving stress!
