Alumni Commons will be a brand new 158-bed housing complex for upper level baccalaureate students, offering SUNY Cobleskill juniors and seniors the option of townhouse or suite living on campus. The project's design complements the surrounding agricultural buildings and site while offering a living environment that responds to the needs of today's upper division students. It includes multiple two-story buildings for a "home-like" scale that provide a combination of apartment-style suites and townhouses, all with full kitchens. Students will have the option to live in three, four or six bedroom units each with his or her own bedroom and shared bathroom (one for every two students). A separate common building will be used for instruction and social gatherings to create the first living and learning environment on the north campus.

Groundbreaking: May 1, 2013; 10:00 a.m.; Walters Barn, north campus

Completion Date: Fall 2014

Construction for the new complex is being financed by Alumni Housing Corporation, LLC, which acquired the land from the College and hired LP Ciminelli, Inc., to design and build the complex. SUNY Cobleskill alumnus Kyle Tuttle, class of 1984 and representative of LP Ciminelli, will manage and oversee the project.
