RESIDENCE HALL DIRECTOR
(Residence Hall Intern, SL-1 or Residence Hall Director, SL-2)

POSITION
Temporary or term, 10-month appointments to begin on or about August 1, 2008.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to participate in accomplishing College's mission by active involvement in student personal growth and development, both within and outside the residence halls. Specific responsibilities include live in supervision of a campus residence hall housing approximately 200 students.
Duties include counseling, educational programming, R.A. selection and training, individual and group advisement, administration/management responsibilities, department and/or campus committee involvement, support and enforcement of college policies and procedures, support and commitment to the Division of Student Affairs and SUNY Cobleskill. The SL-2 version of the position also carries responsibilities for an up to 20 hour per week assignment in another administrative area within the Residential Life Office as a professional development opportunity.
The Residence Hall Director works as a team member with a staff of ten other full time professionals who report to the Director of Residential Life.
QUALIFICATIONS
Baccalaureate degree required. Master's degree in student personnel services or human services and/or residence hall work experience preferred.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $25,845 - $29,678. Apartment and on campus meal plan. Employee benefits with the State University of New York are attractive, including retirement program, health insurance, prescription plan, dental and vision plan, and tuition assistance.
