Campus Social Distancing and Face Covering Policy >> (Updated September 2, 2021)

Schoharie County, and much of New York State, is experiencing an increase in COVID-19 due to the highly contagious Delta variant. As we return to campus, the following requirements will be in effect. Please read these requirements carefully as they apply to all members of our campus community:

  • Everyone must wear a face mask whenever indoors and in all instructional spaces, regardless of location. This applies to all individuals, including students, employees, auxiliary workers, vendors, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Neck gaiters and bandannas are not recommended forms of face coverings.
  • Visitors must wear masks at all times when indoors or outdoors, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Everyone must wear masks, regardless of vaccination status, when attending a large outdoor event.
  • The only instances in which face masks are not required to be worn are when alone in one’s own residence hall room, office or personal workspace, while seated and actively eating or drinking in a designated dining area, or while walking alone or in a small group outside.
  • Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must observe proper social distancing measures whenever possible.
  • Alternatives to cloth face coverings may be provided as an alternative if accommodations are needed.
We will evaluate these masking policies continually so that we may lessen restrictions as conditions allow.

  • All visitors must wear masks at all times, both indoors and outdoors, regardless of their vaccination status
  • Visitors are not required to be vaccinated unless they are visiting residence halls*
  • Campus hosts are not required to have their visitors complete a screening form or temperature check

*All individuals visiting residence halls are required to be vaccinated.

Who is Considered a Visitor?

Visitors are defined as individuals who require access to campus facilities who are not an employee, a registered student, or a campus resident of SUNY Cobleskill. Examples of visitors include vendors and contractors, parents/guardians of students and prospective students, visiting speakers and meeting attendees, delivery personnel.

If a visitor fails to adhere to the above policies, the individual(s) will be asked to desist from such conduct and may be asked to leave campus property. Continued behavior inconsistent with these policies may result in the individual(s) being reported to University Police for appropriate action.

Questions on our visitor policy may be addressed to Chief Richard Bialkowski, UPD at Ext. 5317 or bialkort@cobleskill.edu.

Thank you.
