Information Technology is increasingly important in the modern business world. In
SUNY Cobleskill’s Information Technology department, students of both disciplines
participate in a curriculum that builds proficiency across language, arts, and science
courses in addition to the specialized courses in IT.
Students in Information Technology majors have the option to focus their studies around
various interests including accounting, entrepreneurship, financial services, forensic
accounting, human resources, leadership, management, marketing, sports management,
or sustainability. Information Technology offers advisement tracks in Application
and Web Development, Information Security, Information Systems, Network Administration
and Support, or Web Graphics and Design.
No matter the program or concentration, the focus is always on applied learning through
class projects and internship experiences to prepare students with the real-world
skills they’ll need to either enter the workforce or pursue a graduate degree after
graduation.
