Frequently Asked Questions for Commuter Students

Need a ride to your next class? The College has Student Campus Shuttles to help students get around campus! 

Shuttles run Monday through Friday on a continuous loop around campus. Service will be from the 7 a.m. hour to the 4 p.m. hour each day.

Please refer to this Campus Map which highlights the shuttle stop locations. 

If you would like to have mail delivered to the mailroom in Bouck Hall, you must first register for a mailbox and sign out a mailbox key. It’s free! Check out the Student Mailroom web page for more info.

Commuter Lockers are available in Bouck Hall. In order to obtain a locker, please visit the Office of Student Leadership in Bouck Hall Room 209. You will need to provide your own lock.

Student lounges are located in the Library, Lower Brickyard Point and Warner Hall Express Cafe.
These are places to go if you want to relax between classes. Food is available in Champlin Hall, Coby's, Brickyard Brew House, Carriage House Café, Farm Fresh Café, Twisted Whiskers and The College Store.

Commuter students have full access to the campus Wellness Center for health care and personal counseling needs. Visit the Wellness Center website for more information and call 518-255-5225 to make an appointment. You can also login the Patient Portal.

Yes. Cobleskill Auxiliary Services have a variety of meal plans including a commuter meal plan. Click here for more information. If you wish, you may also pay with cash, credit or debit card at any of the dining facilities.

You can check the SUNY Cobleskill Website, SUNY Cobleskill email, local radio and TV, or sign up to receive emergency text message alerts from SUNY Cobleskill. You must register for message alerts on SUNY Cobleskill NY-Alert.  It is used to immediately notify the campus community upon the confirmation of a significant emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students, faculty, and staff occurring on or near campus, which includes class cancellations, campus safety alerts, and emergency public health information. SUNY Cobleskill University Police and their designees are authorized to send emergency notifications, ensuring no time is wasted from the determination of a significant emergency to sending the notification.
You can also download the Everbridge App from Google Play or the Apple Store. Everbridge is the system used to send voice text and email messages to the SUNY Cobleskill community.

As a commuter student, your designated parking location is Commuter Lot, also known as “C” Lot.  However, between 5PM and 3AM vehicles with a "C" permit may park in any visitor or faculty/staff parking area (except the area reserved for admissions visitors). If "C" Lot is full, commuter students must park in the "P" lot. You can register your vehicle online here. Click Here for more Parking Rules and Regulations.

Yes! There are many activities in which you will want to participate. Please join us for all of the weekend activities.
Several computer labs are available on campus, including labs in Warner Hall, the Library and computers upstairs in the Brickyard Brew House Café.
The SUNY Cobleskill Student Handbook covers all student policies. The Handbook is available online here.
Participate in intramurals, join student clubs and organizations, attend campus programs, study on campus, and hang out at the various lounges on campus. You pay a student activities fee, so please take advantage of everything that is offered based on your availability.
