Overview

The educational and career objectives of this certificate, which are aligned with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., are to educate and prepare skilled CFPs who will be employed by banks and trust companies, brokerage houses, insurance businesses and financial planning firms. The Financial Planning Certificate will enable students to:

Pre-Requisites

Students who wish to enroll in the certificate program must possess a bachelor degree or be enrolled in a SUNY Cobleskill bachelors degree program. Students in the Financial Services BBA program have the option to earn this certificate simultaneously along with their degree concurrently. Individuals who currently hold any bachelor degree can enroll in the certificate program as a three semester sequence. Once students have successfully completed their bachelor degree and the certificate coursework, they will have the knowledge needed to sit for the CFP® exam certification.
