Are you looking for a way to get home for break, do some local shopping in Cobleskill or visit a shopping mall in Albany?

Here are some Public Transportation services available to ALL students. 



Bus

 

Student Campus Shuttles

Need a ride to your next class? The College has Student Campus Shuttles to help students get around campus.

Shuttles run Monday through Friday on a continuous loop around campus. Service will be from the 7 a.m. hour to the 4 p.m. hour each day.

Provides local transportation for Cobleskill (town), Schoharie County, Cooperstown (Otsego County) and the Greater Capital District.

You can also pick up a bus route schedule from the Office of Student Leadership in Bouck Hall 209.

During the academic year SUNY Cobleskill students and employees can ride most of the Schoharie County bus routes for FREE. You just need to present your SUNY Cobleskill Coby ID Card to the bus driver.

However, during breaks and other specific dates, when the contract is not in effect, SUNY Cobleskill students and employees have to pay the regular public fare for the route they are riding.
You can pay this fare in cash, tokens or use the Token Transit app with a debit or credit card to buy a pass.

Reservations must be made for these routes as seating is limited. Please call 518-234-0952 to make reservations. Students will need to present their student ID upon boarding. 

Also, be sure you don't miss the return bus to campus if you go to Albany or another place since there is a limited amount of bus transportation to SUNY Cobleskill.

Provides direct bus transportation to Albany, NY. Once in Albany, NY you can then take a transfer bus to your next destination, such as NYC or the Amtrak Train Station in Rensselaer, NY.

To get to NYC or the Amtrak Train Station, you will need to take a transfer bus.

Please note that there may be a lay over time between buses. If you book your whole trip with Trailways, the transfer bus will not leave without you.

Albany International Airport is located at the junction of Interstate Highways 90 and 87. SUNY Cobleskill is approximately one hour from Albany International Airport, which is serviced daily by several major airlines.

Amtrak Train Stations located closest to SUNY Cobleskill:

Amtrak provides train service daily to Albany and Schenectady. SUNY Cobleskill is approximately 30 minutes from the Schenectady station and an hour from the Albany-Rensselaer station. 

For those arriving to the area via New York City terminals such as JFK, LaGuardia or Newark airports, Penn Station, or Port Authority Bus Terminal, please contact Amtrak or Trailways buses for connections from NYC to Albany and/or Cobleskill. It is also possible to rent a car and follow the driving directions to the campus.

Travel time from the New York City area is about 3.5 to 4 hours by car or bus, and about 2.5 hours by train to Albany-Rensselaer. Trailways buses also have connections between Albany and Cobleskill.
