The Mission of SUNY Cobleskill’s Veteran Affairs Office is to increase access for
Veterans into SUNY Cobleskill while providing them with the necessary guidance, mentoring
and array of student-centered services, programs and community support that will assist
with their transition and ensure their academic and personal success within the College
Community.
Specific Goals that support this mission:
- Support active duty service members, veterans, and dependents to maintain a diverse
and highly qualified student body, faculty, and staff.
- Assess, enhance and/or develop Institutional policies to support Veterans with the
goal of enhancing Veteran Student retention and Graduation.
- Develop strategies that connect Veterans with College resources and support services
while providing students with assistance regarding their transition and adjustment
from Military to College life.
- Commit to certifying accurate and timely veteran’s educational entitlements while
striving to maintain a high level of customer service in assisting our students achieve
their educational goals.
- Provide and continue to expand on-campus military-friendly services and programs.
- Assist, Educate, and Mentor Veterans in regard to Federal and State benefits and eligibility
recruitments.
- The Veterans Affairs Office commits to the ongoing research of funding that will enhance
Veteran Affairs Services; such as pursuit of grant opportunities, enhancement of relationships
with various veteran organizations and a commitment to the develop various on-campus
resources.
- Develop Institutional practices that honor and celebrate Veterans.
