Important Policies and Student Conduct Codes-Affirmation Requirements

This institutional policy and SUNY mandate requires that you read, affirm and agree to abide by the Student Conduct Codes.  This task must be completed before you are permitted access to Banner Web and are able to complete your Web Check in process as outlined in the College Opening Schedule for All Students in the Student Handbook.

If you have already completed this conduct code affirmation process, proceed to the Housing section below.

If you have not completed this conduct code affirmation process then please follow these steps:

  1. Read the Student Conduct Code regarding College policies and other need-to-know information.
  2. In a new browser tab, open Banner Web and Enter Secure Area. You will now need to enter your User ID and PIN numbers (which were mailed to you from the Admissions Office.)
  3. Once you have entered your User ID and PIN numbers, you will be prompted to complete the On The Hill Student Handbook – Positive Affirmation. You will be able to access your account after you have completed this.
  4. Lastly, you must answer a three question survey regarding the Student Conduct Codes to complete the affirmation process. If you answer incorrectly, you will need to revisit the Student Conduct Codes to review and answer correctly to be considered complete.
  5. You are now done with this task and a computer driven confirmation process will indicate you are in compliance, thank you!

Housing

Housing Survey:

Information on applying for housing can be found by going to the Apply for Housing page or by referring to the letter you received from the Admissions office after you have paid your housing deposit.

Room Assignment and Roommate Information:

Once you successfully complete your eRezLife housing application, you will be included in the next housing selection lottery.  You will receive an email with the date and time for you to select your room.  At your designated time, you will pick your specific room for the academic year and receive a confirmation email with your assignment.  If you do not select your own room before the lottery deadline in early August, you will be assigned a room by the Residential Life Office and receive a confirmation email with your assignment.

You will be able to access your roommate information by logging into your eRezLife account once you have selected a room or assignments have been completed.

We recommend you reach out to your roommate prior to your arrival to Cobleskill. Some questions that might help are:

  1. Where are you from?
  2. What is your major?
  3. Are you bringing a TV, refrigerator, game system, etc? (Only one refrigerator is allowed per room)
  4. What are your hobbies or interests?
  5. What are your pet peeves?

You should not rely on only social media or text/email communication. We hope that everyone will reach out to have an individual conversation with their future roommate.

Arrival Information:

All communication regarding arrival will be sent to your Coby email. Please report directly to your Residence Hall to which you have been assigned. Please be advised that Residential Life has a limited supply of hand carts available for use during student arrival. Know that one may or may not be available for your use upon your arrival, depending on demand. If one is required for your student's move in, and you own your own handcart, it may be in your best interest to bring your own on move in day, just to be safe.

Floor and Hall Meetings:

Throughout the year there will be meetings with both your floor and the entire residence hall. These are important for you to attend to find out what is going on in the residence hall and on campus. You will be notified of the exact times and locations of these meetings when you arrive or by your RA. These meetings are considered mandatory.

FAQs and Items to Bring:

You will find some very important information about items that we recommend bringing as well as a list of items that we do not permit in the residence halls by going to the Living On Campus sub sections for "What to Bring" and "FAQ". Please refer to these pages before you arrive so that you do not need to make an extra trip to bring things back home.
